Dr. Shoaib Ugradar is a practicing physician specializing in Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery and serves as the CEO of TORC Research, an organization at the forefront of outcomes assessment and innovative imaging data solutions for Thyroid Eye Disease (TED). Dr. Ugradar’s career began in London, England, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Human Genetics at University College London and earned his medical degree from the University of London, graduating with honors and awarded the president’s prize. Dr. Ugradar trained as an internist in London at The Royal London Hospital, achieving the highest marks on the board exams, before further specializing in ophthalmology at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he earned a gold medal for research and was the Chief of Academic Trainees. Following this, he completed a research fellowship at UCLA under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Alan Goldberg, focusing on novel devices for ophthalmic plastic surgery, which led to patents in the United States.
Dr. Ugradar later joined the UCLA Stein Eye Institute as an Associate Professor, where he treated patients for various oculoplastic conditions for four years. His contributions to the field have been recognized with awards from the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) in 2020 and 2021. Under Dr. Ugradar’s leadership, TORC Research continues to advance the understanding and treatment of TED through cutting-edge technology and dedicated expertise.
