Meet Dr. Nicolas Biro

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team at California Oculoplastics and Retina, Dr. Nicolas Biro! Dr. Biro brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, and oculoplastic surgery, making him a valuable asset to our practice here at California Oculoplastics and Retina.

Education and Training

Dr. Biro completed his first pediatric residency and internship at New York University, followed by a second ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida. During his last year of ophthalmology residency, he was selected to be the Chief Resident, being a leader and liaison between the department faculty and the residents. Subsequently, he was selected for a two-year fellowship in Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology at Willis Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, the nation’s first eye hospital and one of the premier eye centers in the world. During that time, he developed his adult and pediatric Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic expertise at Willis Eye Hospital and also covered the only Ophthalmic Emergency Department in Philadelphia.

Throughout his career, Dr. Biro has been dedicated to teaching and sharing his expertise with others. He recently oversaw oculoplastic resident education at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Nassau University Medical Center in New York. As an Adjunct Professor at New York Medical College, he taught medical students and residents for several years before relocating to California.
