TOGETHER – Leaders of the Present Monitoring Leaders of the Future
Dr. Kristie Lin Featured on PBS & KCLS for Women’s History Month
In honor of Women’s History Month in March, PBS – KLCS is proud to present “TOGETHER – Leaders of the Present Monitoring Leaders of the Future,” a special program dedicated to spotlighting extraordinary women who are making significant strides in their careers. This initiative offers high school students a unique opportunity to connect with influential women, diving deep into their professional journeys to gather insights and advice aimed at helping them achieve their dreams.
One of the standout segments features one of our very own, Dr. Kristie Lin, who was interviewed by Emeline Lee, a high school student from Chatsworth High School with aspirations of becoming a doctor. Dr. Lin gave Emeline and the audience a detailed tour of our Pasadena office and a walk through of a patient encounter. This included a demonstration of some of the advanced medical equipment and medications used in our practice that help patients maintain their vision.
The Compassionate Core of Medicine
What sets Dr. Lin apart is not just her technical expertise but her compassionate approach to medicine with patients of all ages, from premature babies to the elderly. She emphasized the significance of building meaningful connections and stated that the core of being an empathetic physician involves being an attentive listener, capable of discerning subtle signs that are crucial in the holistic diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Recognizing Women in Medicine and Leadership
This feature on PBS – KLCS is not just a celebration of Dr. Lin’s achievements but also a reminder of the vital role women play in medicine and leadership. It encourages a future where compassionate and attentive care forms the cornerstone of the medical profession.
Role Model for Aspiring Doctors
We are incredibly proud of Dr. Kristie Lin for her contributions and for being a role model to aspiring doctors. Her dedication to her patients and the field of ophthalmology exemplifies the best of what our medical community represents, especially during Women’s History Month, as we celebrate the extraordinary women who lead, inspire, and innovate for a healthier tomorrow.
